Hand twist grip

  • Initial situation
    • The aggressor is located behind the defender
    • One handed grip from behind in the stand into the hair
    • The grip is effected from above onto the top of the head

  • Loosen grip
    • Strike with one flat hand on to the gripping hand
      When gripping the finger joints are flexed. The strike on the gripping hand creates a strong pain or fracture of the finger joints

  • Defense technique
    Hand twist grip, Te maki gaeshi
    • Grip with both hands the wrist of the gripping hand on the head
    • Body rotation about 90° towards the aggressor; ...
    • ... by further more turning the hands in the direction of the aggressor the wrist will be distort -> Hand twist grip (Te maki gaeshi), ...
    • ... the arm of the aggressor is angled and the elbow points upwards
