There are a variety of footpad shocks/strikes. Significant here is the distinction in stung foot pushes (Kekomi) and snaped foot strikes (Keage). In both it is important that only the knee moves, and only when it has reached the endposition, the foot will be thrown toward the target. Mae geri - Forward kick The forward kick is probably in reality most applicable kicking technique. The knee is pulled up in front of the body and the toe is pulled inward. The ball of the foot is jerked from the knee joint to the target (Ke age) or pushed from the hip to the target. Possible hit points are lower abdomen, abdomen, chest and more.
