At the general fist strike or shock the target surface should be the index and middle fingers back, because the knuckles of the index and middle finger as an extension of the forearm form a straight line. In case of a target surface of the ring and little fingers, the hand is moved away from the straight extension of the forearm. As a result, the wrist is not so stable. A wrist injury would be possible. Apart from these aspects, there are a variety of ways of target surfaces and striking techniques.
- Seiken uchi – Strike with the face of the fist
- Uraken uchi – Strike with the fist back (backhand strike)
- Hiraken uchi – Strike with the flat fist (Bear claw)
To increase the speed of the shock, one should rotate the wrist in the forward movement during the forehand strike. Nor can the impact effect increased by pushing the hip forward while the striking movement.
