Mikazuki geri uke is an arcuate kick from outside to inside which is used to defend against punches and kicks in Chudan and Gedan level. The impact surface is the vertically held foot sole. This block is dynamic, because the attacking limb is deflected by a sweeping movement.
The technique is also known, depending on the school, as Zoko wawashi uke or Sokutei mawashi uke.
