Gayaku hisigi - Reverse bending

The basic attitude of TORI's arms corresponds to the attitude of Kubi tate hisigi, or the strangulation technique Ebi garami. But the leverage effect on UKE's neck vertebrae corresponds to the neck levering technique Osae hisigi. In contrast to the strangulation technique TORI bends backwards, the shear effect on UKE's neck is not as pronounced here.

COMMENT:
Practically speaking, it is quite difficult for the KARI during the judo ground fighting in a tournament, these two techniques (strangulation or lever technique) to differ in their actual execution because the two techniques are mutually dependent. It always comes to a partial strangulation, and an elongation of the neck vertebrae.
