Popliteal fossa
[Nervus tibialis]
Anatomy:
- The popliteal [Fossa poplitea] or posterior knee area is located at the back of the knee region of the body between the upper and lower leg. The skin of the back of the knee is applied very thin. In the popliteal run the Nervus ischiadicus or its two main branches Nervus tibialis and Nervus fibularis communis. The main vessels are the Arteria poplitea and the Vena poplitea. The neurovascular strand of the knee occurs while extension of the knee and shows a bead.

Consequence:
- By the appropriate pressure - nerve pain; By kicks/strikes - damage to the joint structure
Comment:
- Clothing offers at applied pressure corresponding mitigating the effectiveness!
