Defense by using throwing techniques
Sacrifice throws - Sutemi waza
Keywords:
Floor, Kuzushi, equal and opposite force, using movement
|
|
The so-called sacrifice techniques (Sutemi waza) TORI gives his own balance up by slideing or dropping himself to the floor. He uses his and/or the aggressors swing and his body mass to bring the aggressor down. TORI can forward the movement of the aggressor on various kinds; rotate, tilt, lift, etc. The most effective method to pass the power of the aggressor is the circular path. Basically TORI "lands" at the Sutemi waza first on the ground. This represents in self-defense, however, a risk that the defender (TORI) has to face attacks in the bottom layer if necessary.
